Dr Linschoten (pronounce: Lin-show-ten) was born in the city of Utrecht, Holland but at an early age he moved to Curacao, a Dutch island in the Caribbean where his father was a family practitioner. Upon return to Holland he enrolled in and graduated from the Medical school of the University of Utrecht.
After a general surgery internship, he completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstructive and joint replacement surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
He served as chairman of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the Ochsner Clinic in Baton Rouge from 1992 until 2001, when he joined the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic.
Dr. Linschoten has developed special expertise in the area of hip and knee replacements, especially complex revisions, management of infections, use of alternative bearing surfaces to prolong joint longevity and minimal invasive surgery (MIS).
He loves to swim and he hates to be cold.
